Haunted Ashmore Estates Part 1

Sometimes a building just speaks to you. Draws you close to it, for some reason drives you through its doors and keeps you there. Haunted Ashmore Estates is one of those places. The property in Ashmore, IL has been standing since 1916 and has seen countless souls pass through its doors. Their slogan “some call it home” speaks to a select group who at one time during their lives, did, in fact, call it home. It seems that even in death, many of these same individuals still feel this way.

Who Haunts Ashmore Estates?

There is a slew of souls who seem to co-mingle through the halls of Ashmore Estates. The ghosts of people who resided on property at the turn of the century, when the property was in such poor care and management that its doors were shuttered. The souls of those who lived there many years later when it was a more modern care facility and had a reputation for being a positive home for those in need. People from all walks of its history seem to still reside at Ashmore. Some with angry temperments, some jovial and positive.
