Haunted Mackinac Island And Its Spirits

Mackinac Island to me is one of the most intriguing places I’ve ever visited. Even as a child, something drew me to the island and called me back time and time again. I wouldn’t say it was paranormal, but there was something about it that I couldn’t put my finger on. Mackinac Island always haunted me. What was it that Haunted Mackinac Island?

The Perfect Place for A Haunting.

Located between the upper and lower peninsula of Michigan, Mackinac Island is a tourist hot spot in the summer seasons. In winter, it could very well be the setting for a horror movie like the shining as the population drops off to locals only, with the only way to access the island being a once daily ice-breaking fairy or helicopter. The island itself, before it was a tourist destination was a massive burial ground for local Native American tribes. Grave are still found to this day all over the island.

Haunted Mackinac Island and Its Energy

In the cold months of winter in northern Michigan, the massive resorts such as the Grand Hotel sit empty. Only the maintenance and caretakers roam the halls preparing for the next season. Could there be others still on the island, not the living, but spirits? Ghosts walking the halls of these historic resorts and homesteads seeking to deliver their message or enjoy the comforts of a life gone by? It is after all, nearly impossible to dig on the island without coming across the remains of a human, laid to rest so many years ago.

On today’s episode of The Grave Talks, we hear several ghost stories, yet just touch the surface of one of the most haunted islands in the world. The Ghosts of Mackinac Island.
